What happened to figs?
Figs has been more than a restaurant to us, not only was it our home, it became a place for our family and friends to gather with us as we watched our children and town grow through happiness and heartache. We have had the honor of feeding our community for 12 years. Our customers have become like family.

In 1997, we purchased and renovated this 1782 colonial with dreams of opening a restaurant. In 2010, Figs opened its doors. We lived in the house until 2015, then moved and renovated to create the space known as Uncle Matt’s Bakery, owned by Matt Kirshner, in our old house. What a great bakery and addition to our community!

We are excited that cousin Mario and his partners are taking over Figs! The restaurant group is recognized for their innovative style, casual yet polished Italian restaurant, Motto, in Shelton, among several others.

We are so happy to have Figs's location be part of their latest venture. With a new name, they will be renovating with a thoughtful design and signature style in the heart of Sandy Hook. They will honor all our Figs gift cards at the new “Sugo”. Renovations will start immediately. Can’t wait to see you all there!

We are so grateful for the support of our community, all of our employees, working with our family for all of these years, and for our time at Figs.
Now it's time to start catering! More information coming soon!
